Nestled within a deep block, this project transforms a long under-used parking lot into a vibrant community of nine homes. It demonstrates how we bring density and new life-style options to neighbourhoods in London’s periphery. The L-shaped arrangement of the houses defines a common forecourt, and its orientation gives each house a private garden with southern exposure.
Compositionally, the design works with a theme of the collective vs individual, and its material palette alludes to local housing traditions and fosters ties to its natural setting by Black’s Brook.
